I hope that the strings are not bothering you overly much.

I was wondering if you would care to have a Pokemon battle! I would be happy to do so at any time, but if it will sway your decision, I will admit I am attempting to gain a token from this.

Emmet and I battle outside behind the motel, and we have not received any complaints...

But if you are concerned, there is a gymnasium. It is intended for inmates and not Pokemon, but they do have a battle area!

[Looks up, putting a pause to his playing]

There's only so many buildings 'round here, mate. The real worry was getting tangled on the way... you picked a helluva time for a battle.

I could postpone it, but at this rate, I do not know how long this effect going to last... And it does make things a little more interesting.

[A thunderous, electrifying riff wails from his guitar, practically a boomburst across the walls of the gym. Obstagoon roars in sync with him, hyped up!!!]

Why don't we get this show on the road already?!

[Ingo looks starry-eyed. PIERS IS SO COOL AND PASSIONATE!! POKEMON BATTLES ARE SO EXCITING!!!]

—Gliscor! Prepare for departure!!

[He drops an old-fashioned Hisuian Pokeball onto the gym floor, and out comes Gliscor, connected to Ingo by a yellow-gold string.]

[Perhaps unlike any battle he's had before, Piers and Obstagoon are in sync with the music itself - and timed with a gnarly wail from his guitar, the badger leaps in to take his stance on the gym floor, arms crossed over his chest in a display of toughness. A golden string connects them as well, and Piers sings,]

We'll show you what Spikemuth's made of!! Obstagoon, obstruct and BREAK'EM DOWN!!!

[Ok well singing about a block you're going to make isn't the best strategy, but. Whatever attack comes their way is going to be blocked by the defensive wall of Obstagoon's X-shaped guard!!!]

The answer, so far, seems to be "it transforms the slouched man with depression into a loudly snarling musical beast", so hey. Learning experience. ]

[well the musical beast was defeated in battle, and thus transforms back into a man with bad posture and depression. this is definitely how things work.]

If he chooses to underestimate us, that's his mistake. I've no problem capitalizin' on that.

No way, that was totally worth coming out here. I also didn't know they went like that.

Live music's optional. But it helps get my partner and I pumped up, and in sync.

We were in tune... it was my strategy that was off. I didn't see the sudden speed boost at the end coming.

Was it your first time fighting the guy?

Yeah. I'd seen his team before when they had their little bash in the diner, but I didn't know who he'd pick.

The fact he didn't send out Machamp pretty much means he was tryin' to be sporting and give me a fighting chance.
